Rhesus Macaques

Retired from Research

Meet Agave & Saguaro! Two very special Rhesus macaques who recently retired from an extraordinarily compassionate lab who respected them, and always put their well-being in the forefront of the research. It was obvious from their behavior here, they had been well cared for and humanely treated!

While they’ve never been able to go outdoors, or walk through the grass prior to arriving at OPR, they were confident, curious, and exploring together in no time! The boys are pleased with the kiddie pool, and it will be so much fun watching what they do when they have access to the big one!
